Reliable Neonatal Care for Georgia Families

Being a parent of a preemie baby is extremely emotional, hectic, and challenging. No parent ever imagined their child in the NICU, and navigating the next steps at such an early stage of your child's life can feel daunting. In these times, you need an advocate and a guiding hand to help you move forward with hope and steadiness.

Our skilled nurses step into the homes of Georgia families to love and care for these special newborns. When you choose an Optimum Pediatrics nurse, you are choosing a professional you can trust who cares for your child with gentleness and compassion alongside medical expertise.

Trustworthy pediatric nurses who prioritize your child's development

Our approach to in-home neonatal care

  1. Help Your Child Thrive. We understand how imperative it is for your newborn to receive the best care. Our nurses pay careful attention to your child's development, and we communicate closely with you and your child's clinical team to ensure he or she is meeting customized goals.

  2. Bring Peace to Your Home. Having a baby is a lot to handle as is, but factoring in complex medical care is a completely different situation to grapple with. Our nurses support the families we partner with by working around a schedule that is specific to each family's needs. We also place an emphasis on educating and empowering families so they can feel confident in their child's care, too.

  3. Support Your Family Members. We know that everyone in your family is feeling the emotional impacts of your newborn's medical condition, and our nurses are sensitive to everyone's needs and feelings. You can trust that our nurses will stand by your side, attending your child's doctor appointments with you and also providing you with useful tools to help you adapt to lifestyle changes with your child.

Personalized Neonatal Home Care

Our team of nurses works closely with your child's clinical team to develop an individualized care plan for your child. We understand that every preemie baby has unique conditions and requires a gentle level of care specific to their own needs.

What's included in our in-home neonatal services

Medication Administration

We take medication administration seriously and partner with your child's clinical team to develop the best medication routine for your baby. Our nurses will work with you so you can get familiar with your child's dosing schedule and administration techniques.

Feeding & Nutrition Support

Many of our neonatal clients require feeding assistance through nasogastric tubes, gastrostomy tubes, TPN and IV lines, and specialized bottles. Our nurses are trained to use these tools and monitor your baby's food intake and tolerance. We also teach parents how to deliver these methods of feeding support so they feel confident as well.

Respiratory Support for Infants

Many of the preemie babies that we work with require oxygen therapy. Our nurses closely monitor your baby's breathing and ensure proper use of devices like ventilators and CPAP machines at all times. We believe parents should know how to monitor these devices as well, so our nurses will show you how to operate these machines and stay prepared for changes.

Understanding the transition from the hospital to your home

If your child is ready to be discharged from the NICU, you might be considering in-home care options. In most cases, our team partners with you before your child leaves the hospital. This way, our team can swiftly take over your child's care while working closely with the hospital team.

Because we are actively involved in your family's transition from the hospital, our nurses can offer assistance with scheduling and attending follow-up doctor appointments, therapy sessions, and treatment plans. The personalized nursing care plan we develop for your child will be reinforced by your physician’s orders to ensure continuity of care.
